A MAN will face court today after allegedly leaving a trail of damage during a lengthy police pursuit in Sydney's southwest.
Police say they tried to stop a sedan on the M5 motorway at Raby yesterday afternoon after receiving reports of erratic driving, but the vehicle didn't pull over and police gave chase.
They say the pursuit went on through several suburbs around Liverpool, with the car at one stage reversing into a highway patrol car before ramming another police car.
Police say that after a U-turn the car hit a brick wall before crashing into yet another police car.
It is alleged that when the car was finally stopped the man violently resisted arrest before being subdued with a taser.
Police say they found a substance in the car, believed to be a drug.
A 46-year-old man is in custody, charged under Skyes Law and with other offences.
